Winterbourne Barn Complex - Restoration
Saved from conversion into several houses, this large barn - the longest thatched building in the Salisbury district - owes its restoration to the praiseworthy commitment of our clients.
Part funded by English Heritage, the project involved careful restoration of the timber frame and reconstruction of its arcade and wagon porches. The use of long straw thatch and reintroduction of the tiled valley detail, typical of this period and place, make the building a fine example of its kind.
The barn now serves the local community for lectures, local flower shows and many other purposes, including Channel 4's 'Time Team'.
