Green Credentials
Energy efficiency is an integral part of our design thinking from the outset.
The UK government has set a challenging target that all new housing will be carbon neutral by 2016. So our main focus is on designing energy systems that service each building appropriately.
With substantial experience in this area, we can offer a range of sustainable options.
Energy Conservation
- Super efficient insulation used in the building fabric.
- Maximising natural daylight and minimising the use of electricity.
Renewable energy sources
- Passive solar energy designed in with south-facing glazing to provide passive solar gain.
- Solar panels to give pre-heated hot water or photovoltaic panels to produce electricity.
- Heat recovery systems in place of conventional boilers. Heat exchange units with ground or air-sourced heat recovery can be linked to low-temperature underfloor heating or heated air systems.
- Biofuel boilers - pellet, chip or log fuelled.
- Wind farms - low electricity needs can be met with a wind turbine.
