The setting of this project is a very special location . A high quality landscape - a heavily wooded picturesque small river (winding through) valley.

This design is based on traditional architecture. A design that is derived from the classical model.

The local references of style are varied but there are a number of examples including the neighbouring Art and Craft House, Ashford Chase that is interpretation of the classic style contemporary to its time.

This project, whilst literate in the classical vocabulary will also feature design ingredients that make it of 'this time', e.g. copper roof with frame-less glazed slopes, providing an atrium over central hall or frame-less glazed walls behind the columned openings.

The contemporary ingredients to the house include ground sourced heat pump as primary zero carbon heat generator - with heat recovery from ground pipes beneath a tarmac private road.
