The UK government has set a challenging target that all new housing will be carbon neutral by 2016.

From the outset of the design of a house we aim that the house will achieve the efficient use of energy.

Our main focus must be on the design of the energy needed to service a house.

We have expertise to meet these design objectives.

Conservation of Energy

• Super efficient insulation in building fabric.
• Maximise natural day light and minimise the use of electricity.

Renewable energy sources

• Design in of passive solar energy with south facing glazing to provide passive solar gain.
• Solar panels to provide pre-heated hot water or photovoltaic panels to produce electricity.
• Heat recovery system, in place of conventional boilers. Heat exchange units with ground or air sourced heat recovery to low temperature underfloor heating or heated air systems
• Bio fuel boilers - pellet, chip or log hopper.
• Wind farm - low electricity needs met with wind turbine.
