New Build house

This project is a new build house designed to Passivhaus principles. The highly insulated and airtight fabric to this building resulting in very low levels of heating. Despite it’s appearance as an eighteenth century village house it is energy efficient – beyond current building regulation standards. The exterior uses natural materials – slate, clay bricks and knapped flint. The flint is laid without corner brickwork. An almost unique detail that is rarely seen. Its visual effect is a clean traditional design. In style it is a hybrid of both traditional and contemporary. A traditional¬† elevation facing the entrance and approach to the house and then a modern frameless glass box room to the garden with crisp modern interiors. The balance is a carefully judged mix of the two genre.
