This is a house that replaced a dilapidated pair of turn of the century farm worker houses.
Our design is traditional and appears as an early 19th century house. A formal house with rendered elevations under a slated roof with sash windows.
Despite appearances it is built along ‘Passiv Haus’ principles – ‘super insulated with minimum heating requirement’. A design that for most of the year will require no heating at all. A ventilation system will manage air quality and the whole concept will use very little energy.
The internal spaces are contemporary, with the ground floor dominated by a large living room/kitchen with sofas and an island with the main kitchen storage in a separate ‘back kitchen’ or pantry.
This combination of traditional architecture with high tech construction and modern interiors has become a most popular formula for our new house designs.
